Sandra Haines Dunn

d. May 7, 2024

Salado

On May 7, 2024, Sandra peacefully entered into Heaven while at her home in Salado, surrounded by her loving family. A graveside service to honor and commemorate Sandra's life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Live Oak Cemetery in Killeen and will begin at 1:00 PM.

Born in Killeen, Texas, Sandra's commitment to learning led her to attain a master’s degree in education. Beyond her professional endeavors, she found solace and community at Youngsport Church of Christ, where she sought spiritual growth and fellowship.

Sandra Haines Dunn, affectionately known as Sandi, touched the lives of many throughout her remarkable journey. She began her career as an educator in KISD, dedicating 32 years to shaping young minds before eventually ascending to the role of principal.

Sandra's talents extended far beyond the classroom; she was an accomplished quilter whose creations brought warmth and comfort to those around her. Her love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew her, finding joy in the simple beauty of nature. On May 1, 1964, she married Aaron Wilson Dunn, and was elated to celebrate 60 years together before her passing.

She is preceded in death by her father, William Earl Haines and mother, Vurlie Allene Haines.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Aaron Wilson Dunn; her sister, Janelle Mudge; daughter, Kerri Hensley; son, Marc Hensley; 5 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
