Sheryl was born in Manhattan, a borough of New York City, New York on August 25, 1947, to Maude & Albert King. During her high school and college years, Sheryl was very active and enjoyed sports and loved the subject of Mathematics. Her love of the subject of Math, led to a lifelong professional career in the Banking industry and as a Senior Collector for a major credit card company.
Sheryl entered into marriage August 1, 1980 with Lloyd Butler, whom she often described as “The Love of Her Life”. During Lloyd’s active military career as a Command Sergeant Major, they travelled to many countries, during his career. During their travels, Sheryl led and participated in support groups for the families of the enlisted members of the U.S. Army and was known by all as “Mrs. Butler”.
After Lloyd’s retirement, they moved to Killeen, Texas, where she continued to enjoyed traveling, reading, and cooking. Her skill in mathematics made her a frequent winner at casino slot machines.
Sheryl will always be known for her tall statuesque figure, short haircut and fashionable clothes.
She is survived by husband, Lloyd; Daughters, Lavonya (William) and Katrina (Patrick); Grandchildren; Bryan, Isaiah, Ariel and Lillie. Her sister Marie; Nephew, Howard J.J. (Dawn); her Niece, Jennifer; a brother –in-law, Norris; aunt, Viola Bean; cousin, Shelly James; many cousins, grand nieces, grand nephews and many friends. Also mourning her loss is her precious “fur baby” daughter, Hope.
Sheryl is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, brother in-law, Leon Butler and sister-in-law Loretta.
