Funerals services for retired Staff Sgt. Salvador E. Hernandez, 81, of Killeen are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Josephs Catholic Church.
Mr. Hernandez died Jan. 27, 2011, at his residence in Killeen. He was born Nov. 21, 1929, in Fort Worth to Juan and Anita Hernandez. He joined the U.S. Army in 1952 and retired in 1972 at Fort Hood. He married Bertha Fichtl in 1957 in Germany. He was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Bertha, and daughter, Anita.
He is survived by two sons, George Hernandez, of Germany, and Antonio Hernandez, of California three brothers, Juan, Pablo and Michael Hernandez three sisters, Irene, Elvira and Elisa three grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with a rosary at 7 p.m. at HarperTalasek Funeral Home Chapel. He will be buried at Killeen City Cemetery.
