Funeral Mass for Samuel Pagan 89, of Killeen, will be on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Tom Reitmeyer officiating. Interment services will follow at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.

Samuel Pagan Sotomayor, age 89, passed away in the morning of Tuesday, July 25, 2017. Samuel was born March 29, 1928 in Coamo, Puerto Rico, to the late Luciano Pagan and Teresa Sotomayor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Haydee Pagan, Maria Magdalena Pagan, and his great granddaughter Belicia.

He is survived by his wife Maria Luisa Pagan who he would have celebrated 64 years of marriage with on August 8, 2017, two sons: Jesus Samuel and Edgar; two daughters: Vanessa and Valerie; seven grandchildren: Jonathan, Jennifer, Chrissy, Adriana, Cristina, Victoria and Eric; great grandchildren: Carmela and Ezra; four brothers: Rafael, Luciano, Edelmiro, and Wilfredo; sister Carmen and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Samuel was an Army combat veteran of two wars: Korea and Vietnam who retired after 21 years of service. He received The Borinqueneers Gold Congressional Medal for his service with the 65th Infantry Regiment.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home with a rosary at 7:00 p.m.
