Services for retired Staff Sgt. Johnnie O. Wood, 81, of Watauga, formerly of Killeen, will be 11 a.m. Monday at East Side Baptist Church in Killeen.
Burial will follow in Killeen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Wood died Tuesday, April 7, at his home.

He was born on May 18, 1927, to Homer and Ruth Wood in Miami, Texas. He joined the U.S. Army in 1950, and retired in 1974. His decorations include the Army Commendation Medal; the Good Conduct Medal with silver clasp; the National Defense Service Medal with oak leaf cluster; the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; the Vietnam Service Medal with four bronze stars; the Army of Occupation Medal; and the Combat Infantryman Badge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maud.

Survivors include a daughter; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen.
