Services for Steven Edward Emery, 50, of Round Rock, Texas will be Thursday Sep 13, 2012 at 10 A.M. at the HarperTalasek Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen with the Reverend Derril Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at the Killeen Memorial Park.
Steven went to be with our Lord on Thursday, September 6, 2012. He was born on December 3, 1961 at USAH Croix Chapeau, in Aigrefeuille, France, to William and Nancy Emery. He spent his early years in France and New Mexico, before his family moved to Texas.
Steve grew up in Bell County, where he graduated from Killeen High School in 1980. He moved to Austin where he began his construction career building homes for local contractors. He moved to Round Rock in 1984 and started his company, Ace Builders. Steve was a skilled tradesman and also earned a professional license as a certified Welding Inspector. He was a member of the American Welding Society.
Steve was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend to many. He always thought of his nieces and nephews as his own kids, and loved them all very much. Steves heart was big, and his spirit was filled with helping others both personally and professionally, his entire life. He was a positive influence to many people and touched many lives.
He had many interests including the outdoors, sports and hunting. As a young boy Steve played football, basketball, and raced offroad motorcycles. As an adult, he hunted every year in Central and West Texas, and had also hunted in New Mexico and Colorado. Steve enjoyed boating and jet skiing on the lakes in Central Texas camping in state and national parks auto races and other outdoor events. He also loved snow skiing in Colorado.
Steve attended church in Austin and the United Methodist Church in Harker Heights. He was a hard working, Christian man who loved his family and had many friends. His laughter and sense of humor will never be forgotten. He is loved deeply and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Retired Major William and Nancy Emery of Harker Heights. His brother Michael, and sisterinlaw Rose Emery of Manassas, Virginia. His sisters Brenda Lee of Ft. Worth, TX Tracey Marcello of Plant City, Florida Marion and brotherinlaw Ralph Martorelli of The Woodlands, TX 11 nieces and nephews, 8 great nieces and nephews and girlfriend, Kristy Randolph , Belton, TX.
Visitation will be Wednesday Sep 12, 2012, 68 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Parks or Wildlife Federation.
