A celebration of life for Theresia Gabriela Spring, 94, of Harker Heights will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, January 4, 2018 at St. Paul Chong Hasong Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Killeen Memorial Park.
Mrs. Spring passed away December 29, 2017 at Seton Medical Center.
Theresia, the youngest of 19 children, was born on June 9, 1923, in Wels, Austria to Karl and Barbara Mitterndorfer.
She met her husband, Leonard, during WWII while he was stationed overseas. They moved to the United States in 1954, finally settling in Killeen in 1966 where she was a homemaker and provided child care.
Theresia enjoyed gardening, cooking, spending time with loved ones, and watching her beloved Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.
Survivors include a son, Karlheinz Leifels of Linz, Austria; two daughters, Linda Cooley-Martin (Greg) of Nolanville and Debra Havens of Harker Heights; four grandchildren, Karin Wintersberger (Roland) of Linz, Austria, Lance Cooley (Natasha) of Austin, Kelli Kelley (Chase) of Harker Heights, and Kyle Havens (Elizabeth) of Nolanville; and three great-grandchildren, Martina Wintersberger, Peyton Kelley, and Cash Cooley. She is also survived by many other family members and friends.
Theresia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard Spring; and 18 siblings.
The family will receive visitors from 5:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen.
