Funeral services for Thomas Marcus Saroch, 95, of Killeen will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Covey officiating. Burial will take place at the Killeen City Cemetery. Mr. Saroch died Jan. 10, 2011, in a Killeen nursing home.
He was born Sept. 18, 1915, in St. James, Mo., to Emile P. and Martha Saroch.
Mr. Saroch enlisted in the U.S. Army on Jan. 10, 1938. He attended the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School at Fort Lee, Va., from Oct. 15, 1942, to Jan. 15, 1943, when he was commissioned as a second lieutenant. In 1968, Mr. Saroch retired from the Army, after 30 years of service. For the next 10 years, he was an employee of Killeen Paint and Paper Co.
He was married twice, first to Edith, and second to Emma Mae, who preceded him in death.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emile P. and Martha Saroch sisters, Mary Bush and Martha Ritter and daughter, Dorothy Mathis.
Survivors include his son, Thomas K. Saroch of Lubbock daughter, Doris A. Turgeon of Round Rock brothers, retired Navy Capt. Emile Bud Saroch of Annapolis, Md., and Charlie Saroch of Rolla, Mo.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.
HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Killeen is in charge of arrangements.
