Wayne Creel Crofford passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at the VA Community Living Center in Temple, TX. Wayne was born September 24, 1944, in Holdenville, OK, to the late Joel Green Crofford and Laura Alice (Creel) Crofford.
Wayne joined the United States Army in 1963, where he became an X-Ray Technologist and served in Vietnam. He later attended college and studied Agronomy. He worked at Carl R. Darnall Medical Center as an Ultrasound Technologist for most of his career where he made many long-lasting friendships. Wayne married Yanira Monteagudo on August 4, 2021, and moved to El Salvador where he was able to enjoy the retired life surrounded by many friends and extended family. Wayne was always very kind, generous, joyful, and had a love of people and horses, and that is how we will continue to remember him.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents; four sisters, Ida Lou Shipley, Laura Jo Pegg, Elizabeth Ann Nix, and Erma Lee Neal; and two brothers, Joel Green (Sonny) Crofford Jr. and John Earl Crofford.
Surviving Wayne is his loving wife, Yanira E. Crofford; his sons Wayne M. (Lucia) Crofford of La Vernia, TX, Joe (Gloria) Crofford of Temecula, CA, and daughter, Leah (Doel) Albino of Killeen, TX; his grandchildren, Stephanie (Damian) Padilla, Lucia J. Crofford, Cindy (Roberto) Lopez, Julian Crofford, Isabelle Crofford, Anthony (Carolina) Albino, Jodi Crofford, and Blaze Albino; as well as his great-grandchildren, David Alcala, Adrian Alcala, Annalie Lopez, and Roberto Lopez; numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Rodrigo (Fatima) Medrano, Valeria "Vale," Belen "Copito," and Elena Ibarra of El Salvador.
A Celebration of Life will be held for immediate family at Grace Lutheran Church in Killeen, TX. A special thanks to the Jean, Randall, and Inman families for all you have done during this difficult time.
