William Reed

Funeral services for William Allen Reed, 48, of Killeen will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at HarperTalasek Chapel in Killeen with Pastors Doyle Oliver and Randy Binion officiating. Burial will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

Mr. Reed died Aug. 12, 2010, at a Temple hospital.

He was born on April 27, 1962, in Huntingdon, Pa, where he was educated. He joined the U.S. Army in 1980. He served as a Ground Surveillance Radar Crewman and earned the Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and Marksman Rifle. He left the Army in 1984 and was a Killeen resident since. Mr. Reed was the account manager for Military Sales and Service at Fort Hood and the owner and operator of Central Texas Technical Services. He was also a member of Fountain of Life Church and Evangel Temple Church.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Reed of Killeen stepsons, Kristofer Benham of Jarrell and Justin Benham of California brothers, Barry Reed of Hesston, Pa., Glenn Reed of Bellefonte, Pa., John Reed of Huntingdon, Pa. sisters, Judy Dolt of Sykeville, Md., Connie Yingling of Huntingdon, Pa., Linda Bell of Williamsport, Pa., and Kathy Ornsby of Brackney, Pa.
