A Letter of Love and Encouragement To All that Loved Dee,
This is a letter of love and support and encouragement for a Mother and Father and sisters and brothers and friends who knew Dee. Today isn’t a good day. We lost someone very dear to us. My Parents and grandparents all lost a son and grandson. My siblings and I all lost a brother. Some of you here lost a dear friend that you consider closer than a brother. At times, all of our relationships with him can be described as one big emotional rollercoaster of many ups and downs, and boy oh boy was is a ride. All of us who knew Dee and grew up with him, had a hand in raising him or was privileged enough to cultivate a friendship with him can all agree on one thing: We loved him. That smile of his was infectious. Once he flashed that charm, you couldn’t help but love him. We may not have always seen eye to eye on how we viewed life or our decision making, but one thing is undeniable, we love him, and he loved his family and friends with his all. Seeing our son, brother, and dear friend lose his life in the fashion in which he did is discouraging, heartbreaking and not natural. Death is NOT natural. Death Hurts. Death is an ENEMY. You may wonder though, how is it possible to be encouraged during a time like this? Well most, if not all of us have a belief in God and what the Bible has to say. When Jesus lost a loved one dear to him, he did what we are all doing right now. Jesus Christ, Jehovah God’s own son, wept, cried and grieved when he heard that his dear friend Lazarus died. If God’s own perfect son felt pain at losing a friend close to him, the pain that we feel is a perfectly normal part of the grieving process. What next occurred happened to be the most encouraging event ever witnessed by all in attendance. John 11:35 – 44 explains that Jesus prayed to his father for Holy Spirit needed to resurrect his dear friend Lazarus. After four days of being dead, Jesus was able to wake his friend up from death. John 5:28 & 29 is where Jesus mentions a future event like that of bringing Lazarus back to life. Jesus says, “ Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.” There is where we receive encouragement. The Bible exposes the truth about this Enemy, Death. Psalm 146:4 says “His spirit goes out, he returns to the ground; on that very day his thoughts perish.” God did NOT cause this accident to happen. God did NOT need another angel. He sees our pain; he never is the cause of such evil things. We see that Dee is not in some sort of Limbo, nor is he in Heaven, and he is certainly not in any type of Hell. He is simply asleep, waiting to be called to life again. We can look forward wholeheartedly to the promise that Jehovah God gives us. The Bible book of Revelation chapter 21: 3-5 gives us the promise that in just a little while longer, death will be no more. There will be no more times to mourn. No more pain. These heartbreaking things will be a thing of the past. William Devauri Ames, a resident of Copperas Cove, Texas died on Monday, January 13, 2020 from a hit and run car accident. Will, well to others as “Dee and Will” was born September 28th, 1987 to Joyce Hayes and William Ames in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania. He was educated in the Philadelphia Public School District and graduated from Swenson Technology in June 2005, where he was introduced to plumbing. His desire to work led to employment at McDonald’s Restaurant. Shortly afterwards he attended and completed a course in Plumbing at Orleans Technical School in Philadelphia. He graduated and became a certified plumber and was immediately hired by Roto-Rooter Plumbing company. “Dee” loved to work and put his heart into whatever job he did. By the He looked forward to snowy winters when he could “earn a little money” as he would say, shoveling snow. In 2014, he relocated to Killeen, Texas where is Mother Joyce and Stepfather Dan lives. There he worked with Dan at Spectrum Communications. He also helped with renovating houses. “Dee” loved animals (all of them) and never owned less than 3 pets at any time. But his passion was his music. He could spend all his past time in his studio writing songs, rapping and recording his music or his friend’s music. “Dee” always had a mind of his own and held himself responsible for the consequences of any mistakes he made. But he never, never lost confidence in himself. This and his self confidence eventually led to him becoming a motivational speaker. “Dee” was survived by his son Saphir Green, his Mother Joyce Hayes (Dan), his father William Ames, Maternal Grandparents James and Essie Green, Paternal Grandmother Phyllis Ames, brothers James Corey Eric Green (Kourtney), Terrell Andwarr Green (Devonna), Julius William Miles IV, Jamal Ames, two sisters, Jasmine Ajee Lauren Miles, Shaquerra Ames and a host of brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and “his friend Joshua Weir Sr, Who was with him as they took their morning walk.”
