William Harper was born to the parentage of Charlie and Pearlena Harper on February 20, 1928, in Red Bird, Oklahoma. Born the only male son, he was reared in the fear and admonition of the Lord. In the tender years of his youth he accepted Christ as his personal Savior.
He attended school in the Drumright area. A dedicated man, he served his country by enlisting into the Army right after high school. While on active duty he was assigned to many different duty stations all over the world, and was a proud veteran of World War II. He was honorably retired at Fort Hood, Texas. He then set upon a new venture in his life working for Civil service until being medically retired.
A devoted man, he was blessed to unite with Retha Mae Foster in holy matrimony.
To their union were born a daughter, Willa M. Harper and a son, William Earl Harper.
William was a member of Youngsport Baptist Church. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge and also VFW 9191. He was a productive member of both associations serving each tirelessly until his health began to fail.
Among those preceding him in response to the Master's call are his wife, Retha Mae Harper; his parents, Charlie and Pearlena Harper; sisters, Inez Richardson, Ester Moman, Della Green, Linda Foxx, Ernestin Shufford and Freddie Harper.
Those left to rejoice in their memories of him include his daughter, Willa M. Magee; his son William Earl Harper; two grandsons, Terrance Magee and William ( Shonda) Magee, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for William, A Son, A Servant and A Soldier… Well Done!!!
