William Lamorte

September 29, 1934 — August 2, 2012

On September 29, 1934 William P. Lamorte Bill was born to Joseph and Grace Lamorte in Swampscott,
Massachusetts. Bill was drafted into the United States Army as a paralegal. He served in Germany, France, Korea and Vietnam. As a Sergeant First Class, Bill retired in 1977. From there, he joined the United States Postal Service. At the same time, he opened Bills Upholstery and served the community giving their furniture beautiful makeovers. Then, in 1984, he and his wife, Kim, decided to serve the best donuts in town and opened The Donut Inn. Later they built and owned K. L. Plaza. After retiring from the postal service in 1998, he and Kim opened Ks Cleaners, then Heights Cleaners. He enjoyed watching the news, westerns and sports. Baseball was his favorite sport and the Red Sox were his favorite team. He enjoyed many games at that stadium He enjoyed healthy eating, was an avid mall walker and loved telling stories about his life experiences. Kind and gentle, he was the most honest of men. Bill is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kim Lamorte son James and daughterinlaw Margie daughter Suzanne Farrell and soninlaw Tim Farrell brother Anthony sister and brotherinlaw, Theresa and Al Malagrifa nephews, Rich and Steven Malagrifa, Thomas and Alex, Kim, Hoyong, and Kyung Yang, sisterinlaw Yhung Yong Nee, brotherinlaw Yhung Shag Sik, and grandchildren Anthony and Elizabeth Lamorte and Aubrey Farrell also survived by Louise Pellegrino, Joan Cleveland, Pat Griece, Margaret Hinds and Pat Witridge. Bill was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. He will be greatly missed and will leave smiles and warmth to the many lives he has touched. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 6, 2012 at 10:00 AM, at St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church in Harker Heights. Burial with full military honors will be in the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery under direction of Harper Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen. Visitation will be Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.
