Services for William Joseph Mullis, 66, of Belton, will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen. Interment with military honors will follow in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Mullis died Feb. 25, 2017, in Belton.
He was born Nov. 9, 1950, in Antwerp, Belgium, to the late James F. Mullis and Johanna Verboven.
He joined the U.S. Army on Feb. 21, 1968, as a light vehicle truck driver and served a tour in Vietnam. William married the late Tonya Ann Phillips on Feb. 11, 1968.
He left the military Feb. 15, 1971, after serving honorably, and began working for civil service at Fort Hood until his retirement in 1996.
Mr. Mullis was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and a brother, Frank Mullis
Survivors include his daughter, Michelle Mullis Bienko (Michael); son, William J. Mullis, Jr.; brother, Jeff Ward; sisters, Pat Branham: Donna, Linda and Selma; six grandchildren, Steven Hughes: Nathan Hughes: Alycia Bienko (Urias): Billy Wayne Mullis: Michael J. Bienko, Jr.: Harley Marie Bienko; two great-grandchildren, Summer Riley Rose Bienko Noe and Skylar Mullis; five nieces; four nephews; and many friends.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen.
