William Reed

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Our beloved William Christopher Reed was summoned home on April 4, 2016, having graced us with his presence from the sunrise of August 2, 1983 until his departure from us. William could never sit still in one place; his travels took him from his birthplace of Savannah Georgia to Wantage England, Comiso Sicily, Kaiserslautern Germany and back to "the world" in Panama City, Florida. Although his first "real job" was being a big brother, he began his adult career in the 272nd MPCO - 95th MP Battalion of the United States Army, serving his country in the Iraq war from 2002 to 2005. After leaving the Army, William returned to serve his country, traveling to Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Jordan, Dubai and so many other locations because he could not sit still. William loved to travel, experience life, fellowship with others, and receive all that this life had to offer.

To cherish his fond and beautiful memories are a loving family to include; his devoted wife, Celes A. Reed; his mother and father, Willie and Shelia Reed. His brothers; Jarod (Apri), Lawrence, Malcolm; his children Denyshéa and Righteous William; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. William loved his family; he loved his friends, which was evidenced by his many acts of love, nurturing and guidance over the years. He was our big teddy bear! William loved to laugh and all who were blessed to know him have countless stories of his joking nature, his pranks and pure fooleymagooley. He loved to cook and feed his family and friends; which required that you inform him immediately how good his food tasted! He wanted nothing more than to see those for whom he cared so deeply to do well in life and be the best they could be! It is with heavy, yet comforted hearts that we take care of him now and send him home.

Homegoing services will be held at 11:00am, April 11, 2016 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Homes, 506 North 38th Street Killeen, Texas 76543, with interment following at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 South Highway 195 Killeen, Texas 76542 at 1:00pm. The family will receive friends at the residence of William and Celes at 4636 Tiddle Lane Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
