Willie Lee Cooper was born in Tallahassee, Florida on October 4, 1946 to the late Lewis Cooper and Rochelle Hodges. He passed away on November 24, 2016 at his home in Killeen, Texas.
Willie was raised in Tallahassee. He proudly served our country with the U.S. Army from February 6, 1967 to January 29, 1970, during which he served two tours in Vietnam. After he departed from the Army he worked as a truck driver and was a self-employed handyman doing everything from cleaning carpets and lawn care to fixing anything that was broken. He married Darlene Lee on July 11, 1980 and later married Louise Brown Cooper on August 8, 1988. Louise preceded him in death on November 10, 2010.
Willie was a very generous and giving person. He lived his life to be the best example of a servant of the Lord. Since 2008, he was an active member of New Beginnings for All People Ministry. He became an ordained minister in 1989 and received his minister's license. Willie loved to share his love of the Bible and minister to all who would listen. He had a radio ministry "The Love Train-Love Unlimited". In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, reading his Bible and working with his hands fixing things. Above all, Willie loved spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Nena Westbrook, Alesha Palmer, Shaleika Outlaw, and Sherika Pinnekins; two siblings, Jesters Cooper and Annie Ruth Cooper; nephews, Bobby Brinson and Jimmy Deadwilder; a niece, Ruth Denise Cooper and 13 beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by many other loving friends and family members.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m on December 2, 2016 at New Beginnings for All People Ministry with the funeral service starting at 12:00 p.m.. Burial at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery will be held Monday, December 5, 2016, at 9:00 a.m..
