Raymon Louis Pearcey

The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him.

Proverbs 20:7

Raymon Louis Pearcey was born on November 8th in Thomasville, Georgia to the late LJ and Oza Pearcey. His father, a Methodist minister, made sure their only son committed himself to Christ at an early age – a commitment he upheld for the remainder of his life. Drafted into military service during the Korean War and later completing several tours in the Vietnam War, he dutifully served in the United States Army for thirty years before retiring in 1980.

Quick-witted with a heart of gold, he was a noted fitness enthusiast. His daily runs made him a local legend and served as an inspiration to citizens young and old as he championed the virtues of healthy living. When he wasn’t running or spending time with family and friends, he could be found listening to his extensive jazz collection. A willing servant of the Lord, he openly shared his faith and journey to salvation wherever the road of life led him.

A man of integrity and honor, over the years he came to be one of Marlboro Heights most beloved residents. The consummate neighbor, he was never too busy to lend a hand, offer a word of encouragement or share a heartfelt smile -- always delivered at just the right moment. His calm, friendly demeanor will forever be etched into the fabric of the great community he proudly called home.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and his beloved first wife, Lamona Pearcey. He is survived by his wife Constance Gail Pearcey of Killeen, Texas and children Raymon Pearcey Jr of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Rodney Pearcey of Phoenix, Arizona, Lewis Pearcey of Dallas, Texas, Ronald Pearcey of Lithonia, Georgia, Ramona Pearcey-Burnett of Denton, Texas, Lynn Pearcey of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Tarl Franklin of Killeen, Texas and a host of grandchildren.
