Darlene Willella “Godwin” Matamoros was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on May 30, 2021, at age 66. She was courageous in facing life challenges with a smile and stayed strong until the end. She was born to Darl and Joyce Godwin on April 25, 1955, on Fort Hood, Texas. After graduating from Killeen High School Darlene was a practicing beautician and also went to earn her associate’s degree in business administration. She met her husband, the love of her life, Frank Matamoros Jr. and together they had two children: Tandra and Frank. Most of all she loved her family and instilled in them strong values that have served them well. Darlene loved spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals for her family and friends. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, and crafting. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Darl and Joyce Godwin, and brother, Harold Godwin. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Darlene is survived by her loving husband Frank Matamoros Jr, daughter Tandra Castro, spouse Benjamin Castro, grandchildren Ty Toby Castro and Lilliana Lorraine Castro, son Frank Guy Matamoros III, grandchildren Frank Josiah Matamoros IV, Gabriel Manuel Matamoros, Eziquiel Christian Matamoros, and Mason Elijah Matamoros. She is also survived by her sisters: Sharon Leggett and Marsha Fulcher, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
