Glen Nauert

July 11, 1963 — October 2, 2019

Killeen

Glen Allen Nauert, age, 56, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at home. He was born on July 11, 1963 in Lampassas to Gilbert and Jacqueline (Bradley) Nauert. He was a graduate of Copperas Cove High School in 1981. He worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, where he retired in 2012. He loved to go fishing and hunting, maybe not so much shooting, but sitting in a deer blind and watching the deer. He liked to play Dominoes, watch cooking shows, and drive all over Texas to try out different restaurants. Everyone knew not to ask him, “Where do you want to eat,” because it was somewhere new for a Hamburger. He was a kid at heart and loved the State Fair of Texas and funnel cakes. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan and loved his dog Banjo. He was proud to be called Pepaw and loved playing with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father Gilbert C. Nauert and his brother James (Jim) C. Wells.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Nauert, of Killeen. Three daughters; Christina Hopson of Burnet, Nina Venus (husband Marcus) of Killeen, and Ashley Valdez (husband Johnnie) of Killeen.  Grandchildren; Braeden, Avery, & Bry Hopson, Myles and Kora Venus, and Emmarie Valdez. Mother Jacqueline Nauert Reid of Florida. His siblings brother John (wife Betty) Wells of Alaska, sister Kathy (husband Paul) Bullara of Florida, sister Dee (husband Danny) Herndon of Tennessee, brother David (wife Melanie) of Temple, sister-in-law Marilyn Wells of Kempner, Aunt, Sandra Springs of South Carolina, Godmother Linda Duncan of Copperas Cove, many loving cousins, nieces and nephews and his fur baby Banjo.

The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful care given by Scott and White Dialysis Center in Killeen. If desired, friends may make contributions to Baylor Scott and White Health Heart Transplant Program or Dialysis National Kidney Foundation
