Lily De Pursley

November 1, 1961 — February 24, 2022

Temple

Lily De Pursley was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on February 24, 2022.

Lily was born in a small town in Honduras and was raised in the capital Tegucigalpa until as a young teen she made the journey of a lifetime to the United States. Throughout her life she faced great adversities with remarkable courage and strength which shaped her into the independent and ever striving woman as she was known by all.

Lily was passionate and resolute in all her endeavors but none other like her determination to be ever present in her children’s lives and in raising her grandchildren. Regardless of illness or hardship she would light up the darkest night just like a star when unexpectedly one of her children would knock on her door with her grandchildren in arms. Her greatest accomplishment was the flourishment of her family from the abundance of her caring love.

Lily loved listening to music of all language. She enjoyed traveling and dreamed of exploring the world. She took pride in decorating her beautiful home and would show up to any event in elegant style. She was the first person to arrive to any family gathering and would capture the attention and laughter of all with her uniquely charismatic style of storytelling. Her stories were always about the family memories she cherished the most like her experiences raising her children as a young mother or the extremes to which she would spoil her grandchildren or the adventures she lived on her many travels. Above all was her life’s greatest joy was being the grandmother to her four grandsons and two granddaughters. Her exuberant joy brought life to all those in her presence and she will be greatly missed.

Join us to honor the memory of this beautiful woman at 10:00 am on March 3, 2022 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen.
