Lloyd Joseph Herbert was born on January 12, 1953, to parents Amon Herbert Sr., and Elenora Motley Thibodeaux, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  Lloyd proudly served as an investigator CID for the city of Killeen Police Department from June 6, 1986 to Jan 12, 2012.   Like all hard-working individuals Lloyd retired with the intent and determination to enjoy his retirement but as fate would have it ill health stepped in and it became an upward struggle.

On January 28, 2023 at the age of 70, he transitioned to meet his creator.

Lloyd, leaves to cherish a devoted companion of 24 years, Tatra Adanandus; siblings, Reginald, Valery, Debra, Chaunti Herbert, all residing in New Orleans, Louisiana.  From the union of Lloyd along with Jannie Berry was a blessing of a daughter, Dedrean Herbert. Also, from this union a son, Vernial Berry Sr., that Lloyd felt fortunate to raise. Lloyd, influenced the lives of son, Gregory (Jameisha), daughters, Shir’kayta, and Ta’marshea Adanandus; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; god sister, Kercheryl of Louisiana; godson, Dwayne (Dee Dee) Anthony of New Orleans, Louisiana; godsons, Corinthian (Kim), Rickey Jr, and Dextrick (Gina) Wesley of Killeen, Texas; godchildren; Johnny, Bree, Des Jr., Kendall, and Diamond Ware; godchildren, Tyniesha and Shakear Scott of Houston Texas. Special people in his life; son in law, Curtis White; niece, (daughter) Renee Herbert, cousin, Michael Walter Young Jr., and respected niece, Dana; Special friend, Darwin aka The Babysitter 92.3.  Lloyd often appreciated the friendships and talked often of Judge Cooke, Judge Duskie, District Attorney, Henry Garza, Rickey & Annie Wesley, Deidra Ware, Troy Felder, Paul Cruz, Karl & Jean Ortiz and the Watkins family.

Lloyd, coming from a Catholic background was enthused by the teaching and preaching of Pastor Shaun L Moton of Marlboro Heights Baptist Church and thought very highly of him.

Special heartfelt love to aunts;  Auntie Lin, Beverly (Tolue), Sandra (Cricket) Frances (Sunday), Jewel Curtis, Shirley Stovall, Porchia Waiters and Joann Harrison; Special Adopted Moms; Shirley Arkadie, Monica Watkins, and Mary Bond.  Lloyd is preceded in death by his son Shaun Herbert, parents Amon Sr., and Elenora; siblings, Ronald Motley, Larry, Janine, Patty, Vernon, and Amon Jr., Herbert, all of Louisiana.
