Tatiana Wolff

September 19, 1968 — July 8, 2019

Moody

Marie Michelle Tatiana Desir Wolff (50) was born September 19, 1968  in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti to Wilfrid and Athalie Desir.  At the age of five, Tatiana and her parents moved to Brooklyn, New York to begin new lives in the United States.  Tatiana attended Nazareth Regional High School, where she was a member of the volleyball and track teams, running the 100, 200, and 400-meter races, as well as a part of those winning relay teams.  Tatiana graduated from high school in 1986, after which she attended Michigan State University, where she was also a part of the track team and Black Caucus.

In 1989, after attending Michigan State University, Tatiana joined the United States Army, serving in Germany, Kuwait, Iraq, Louisiana and Texas.  After proudly serving for more than eight years on both active duty and in the Reserves,  Tatiana fell in love with the South, so decided to stay in Texas, settling in the Houston area, and starting her next career in contract procurement, where work would take her from Houston to Bosnia, Kuwait and Iraq.  Tatiana later began working for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), a segment of the Department of Veterans Affairs, where she was able to once again serve her fellow soldiers as a Contract Specialist.  She would stay in this role until her passing.

Tatiana was a loving and kind woman who brought joy and happiness to all, and loved her parents dearly, whom she wanted to live like a king and queen.  A self-professed ‘Daddy’s Girl’, she often solicited his advice on any number of topics, and was overjoyed when her parents moved from New York to Texas to be near her.  Tatiana adored her Grand-Pere, who lived in Boca Raton, Florida, visiting with him as often as she could.  Tatiana was close to and loved her cousin, Karl, whom she thought of as a brother, and was also a loyal and caring friend, always willing to lend a hand or an ear to anyone who needed it.  She was a godmother and honorary auntie to several of her friends’ children.

In 2008, Tatiana met her husband, Kim Wolff, a man she says “God had reserved just for her!” And having always wanted to be a mother, she was also blessed with her beloved Isabella – “the daughter God had gifted to her”, as well! With this union, Tatiana also gained a wonderful extended family with whom she appreciated spending a great deal of time.

Tatiana loved to travel; she, Kim, and Isabella sailed many cruises and traveled throughout Europe together, and enjoyed many vacation experiences with her extended family, from Colorado to the Caribbean.   She also loved visiting with her neighbors, often hosting many BBQs and ‘game nights’ with local family and friends, planning an ‘Anni-grad-iversary’ for all in the coming months because she loved out of the ordinary fun!

Tatiana was an animal lover, and had several dogs whom she considered children.  She could often be seen tossing many a ball to them in her backyard, when she wasn’t tending her flowers or herb garden, or planting roses, where she found tremendous peace.  In her spare time, Tatiana was also pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Finance/Accounting.

She was an avid reader, especially of Dean Koontz novels, and loved to watch thriller, science fiction and anime movie marathons with her nephew, Tristan, and daughter, Isabella, and occasionally indulged in Audrey Hepburn classics with her college friend, Jeanne.  A fan of almost all genres of music, Tatiana   could often be seen dancing around her kitchen and singing to her plants as she indulged in the joy of cooking for her family, often trying out new recipes and sharing them with her friends.  She was also an HGTV enthusiast and would spend a good deal of time ensuring her family’s home was beautifully and comfortably designed and decorated.

Tatiana was an angel God gifted to us for far too short a time, and she will be truly missed.  She leaves behind her adored parents, Wilfrid and Athalie Desir, beloved husband Kim Wolff, precious daughter Isabella Wolff, sister/friend Jeanne LoVette (Michael), Godchildren Devinn and Kyndall LoVette,  cherished cousin Karl Lissade (Victor), brother-in-law Tom Wolff (Christine), sister-in-law Jennifer Hayes- Zelmer (Gregory), nephews Tristan and Matthew Wolff, nieces Nicole Hayes and Kourtney Zelmer, adopted daughter Alicia Frost, track team friends Tina Leake (Doug), Bridgette Rosa and Vanessa Thompson, and a host of family and friends here in Texas, New York, Haiti and throughout the world, who loved her dearly.
