Vera Miller

December 19, 1938 — February 10, 2022

Killeen

Vera Miller was born on December 19, 1938 in Weimer, Texas, to David White and Ossie White.  She confessed Christ at an early age and enjoyed attending church.

She married the love of her life, Floyd Lee Miller Jr., on August 19.

In 1961, they moved to Killeen, Texas to build a life for their children.  To this union six children were born, Lloyd Stanley Miller Sr. of Killeen, Larry Gene Miller (Shirley Miller) of Tennessee, Thomas Charles Miller (Shirley Ackridge Miller) of Killeen, Angela Kay Whiteside (Clifton Whiteside) of Killeen, Sonja Denise Montgomery (William Montgomery) of Tennessee and Patrick Keith Miller of Gatesville. Years later, Vera extended her love and home and adopted Lloyd Stanley Miller Jr, of Houston and Summer Cha Miller of Killeen.  Vera worked as a cook for various daycare centers, was a devoted mother and loving wife.   She resided in Bell County until her passing.

Vera loved her family! She had many friends and enjoyed being around others.  To know Vera, you knew the loving, strong-willed, outspoken woman she was.  You would hear, “Woo, Woo, Woo” and would see her dance around with her family members and neighbors.  You would smell the barbeque going and could enjoy some good old down home blues.  Vera loved helping others and truly enjoyed being outdoors with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Ossie White, husband Floyd Lee Miller Jr., brothers, Norris, David Jr., Eugene and Elijah White.

Left to mourn her memory are  her children Lloyd Stanley Miller Sr. of Killeen, Larry Gene Miller (Shirley Miller) of Tennessee, Thomas Charles Miller (Shirley Ackridge Miller) of Killeen, Angela Kay Whiteside (Clifton Whiteside) of Killeen, Sonja Denise Montgomery (William Montgomery) of Tennessee and Patrick Keith Miller of Gatesville; sisters, Lillie Canady of Killeen and Clora Taylor of Killeen; one devoted niece to the end, Wanda Dumas of Killeen, a host of nieces of and nephews, twenty-two grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Special thanks to her grandchildren and great grandchildren who took time to visit, run errands, bring the children around to share laughter and love.  Thank you for being present during times, when we, the children could not.
